This week saw the launch of the UK’s first personal and home safety products vending machine! Provided by F&T Vending and sited in the new reception area at Hull Royal Infirmary, patients and visitors are now able to access items like personal alarms, property marker pens, window locks and smoke alarms from the machine at any time of day or night.
This has been a project that we have been working on for a while in partnership with Hull and East Yorkshire NHS Trust, Humberside Police and Neighbourhood Network, who came to us a little while ago with the products, looking for our expertise in how best to market them in the hospital environment.
This is an ongoing process whilst we monitor usage and popular items but has already drawn interest from other NHS Trusts, shopping centres and other branches of the Police.
The specially adapted machine has been fitted with state of the art telemetry and a note reader and we are already looking at other applications for its use.
Tish Taylor, Sales and Marketing Manager at F&T Vending says:
“We are really pleased to have been involved with this project from the beginning and it’s great to now see the adapted machine in situ. We’ll be keeping an eye on things during the trial and making improvements if necessary to make sure that we have everything right.
“The opportunity to work alongside HRI and developing further our long relationship with Humberside Police to ensure the project’s success has been a pleasure and we feel positive that this is only the beginning of the roll out of the idea across other sites in Hull and potentially across the UK.”
